This exquisite vintage Norwegian bracelet is a masterclass in mid-century Scandinavian guilloché enamel work. Crafted by the renowned Oslo-based silversmith Georg Johannes Ruud, this piece showcases the vibrant blue artistry that defined his workshop during its operation from 1923 to 1958.
It features a central circular medallion and six elongated oval links, all finished in a striking translucent blue enamel. Beneath the enamel lies an intricate, engine-turned guilloché pattern—a sunburst design on the centre and delicate wave-like textures on the links—which creates a shimmering, multi-dimensional effect when it catches the light.
The silver has a light gold wash (vermeil), a characteristic finish for high-quality Norwegian enamel jewellery of this period, intended to enhance the richness of the blue tones.
Georg Johannes Ruud (1888–1957) trained under the legendary David-Andersen before opening his own workshop in 1923. His work is highly collectible for its precision and rare, sought-after designs.
